Cincinnati Music Hall
Conceived as a cathedral or temple of music, the building was championed by Ruben Springer and other local philanthropists. The 3,500 seat Springer Auditorium is considered one of the most acoustically perfect performance halls in the world. The building is home to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera, and the May Festival Chorus.
Historic StatusListed on NRHP on January 26, 1970.
Unique FeaturesBuilt on the site of an old pauper's cemetery, the building is rumored to be haunted. Many who have worked in the building including the late conductor of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Erich Kunzel, have report sightings and encounters.
